Accessibility FAQ

Is there disabled parking?

Disability parking is available in front of Salford Museum and Art Gallery, M5 4WU or Delaney Car Park, M5 4RB, however they are pay and display car parks and will cost you approximately £2.50 for a three hour stay. Due to crowd sizes parking in the park will no longer be available.

Is the site wheelchair friendly?

Yes, the park has disabled ramps for access and the venue is flat. However the event is on grass and depends on weather conditions.

Is there seating available?

Yes, we have seating available in different spaces at the event, however it is subject to availability on the day. If you have any specific requirements please email info@salfordpride.org.uk and we can try to help. Alternatively guests are permitted to bring their own foldable chairs.

Can I bring medication into the event?

Yes, medication can be brought into the event for guests that require to take medication throughout the day, the medication needs to be in labelled packaging which includes the guests name. Please make a member of the Salford Pride team or security aware of the medication at the main entrance when accessing the event.

Are there tickets for those with disabilities?

Yes we have a limited amount of accessibility tickets for those with a disability or mobility issues which have a dedicated entrance for quicker queueing, please be advised to reduce the queues please use a clear bag to reduce time for bag searches.

What arrangements are in place for people with a disability?

We will have BSL interpreters on our main stage throughout the day, and our team of volunteers will available on site to help you as much as we can. There will also be a viewing area for wheelchair users who require an accessible view of the main stage - just speak to one of our handy volunteers and they will direct you. Access to the accessibility area will require an accessibility ticket.

If you want a slightly quieter picnic experience, we also have dedicated areas on the site at our youth and picnic area.

We hope that all of our guests have an amazing experience at our event. If you experience any issues on the day, please speak to a member of the Salford Pride team or a security officer on duty. Please be advised that Salford Pride will not tolerate any aggressive or rude behaviour towards our team, volunteers or security, who are there to try and help. Anyone that demonstrations the above behaviour will be evicted from the event.

General FAQ

Do I need a ticket?

Yes, to help track attendance and capacity a free ticket is required to access the site. Free tickets are limited to two per customer, if able please make a donation with your ticket.

Do children need a ticket?

Yes, to help track attendance and capacity a free ticket is required for children. Under 16’s need to be accompanied by an adult. Please ensure that children are monitored at all times during the event, any children without an adult will be challenged to ensure they are attending with supervision.

Will there be bag checks in place?

Yes, for health and safety security will be conducting bag searches at the entrance. For faster queueing please limit the items you bring or use a clear bag.

Food & Drink FAQ

Can I bring drinks into the event?

Yes, soft drinks are permitted into the event space we just ask that these are in a can or carton. To follow government guidelines and to reduce our impact on the park single-use plastic will not be permitted on site. Please bring empty reusable bottles to take advantage of our water station.

Can I bring single-use plastic into the event?

No, to follow government guidelines and to reduce our impact on the park and the environment single-use plastic will not be permitted on site. Soft drinks and water are permitted into the event space we just ask that these are in either a reusable bottle, can or carton. A water refilling station will be on site for guests to refill their reusable bottles with drinking water.

Can I bring alcohol to the event?

Yes, alcohol is permitted on site as long as it is not in a plastic or glass bottle. Alcohol is limited to a maximum of 8 cans per person of beer/lager/ale OR 8x cans of spirit + mixer, OR 8x cans of wine/Prosecco. For health and safety we do not allow glass or glass bottles on site. Please be advised if you bring glass to the event it will be confiscated on entry. Alternatively there will be a beer tent on site for alcoholic beverages.

Can I bring food to the event?

Yes, guests can bring their own food to the event that is not in single use plastic, alternatively there will be vendors in site for food. We ask that before guests leave they ensure that their waste is put in a bin around the site. Please help to keep our park clean and minimise the waste for our volunteers to have to collect.

Equipment & Bikes FAQ

Can I bring my bike into the area?

No, we do not allow bikes into the event space due to guest safety.

Can I bring my own gazebo?

No, we do not allow guests to bring their own temporary structures. Due to health and safety procedures that Salford Pride have to follow infrastructure on site has to be erected by our own insured suppliers.

Can I bring my own seating?

Yes, guests can bring their own foldable seating or blankets into the event space. however plastic tables or garden furniture is not permitted. We ask that any equipment you bring you take home after the event.

Dogs FAQ

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are permitted into the event space, we just ask that they are kept on a lead within the space and that they are child and dog friendly. Please ensure to pick up any dog mess made by your dog and put the waste bag in a bin.

Event Parking FAQ

Is there parking at the event?

Paid parking is available in the Irwell Place Car park, Irwell St, M5 4PE. Access the entrance to the car park from the Crescent. Please be advised guests park in this car park at their own risk, Salford Pride and Salford University are not liable if any damages occur. Cost for all day parking is £4.00

ALL PAYMENTS SHOULD BE MADE ON ENTRY AND PAID VIA ‘PAYBYPHONE’, ‘PARKUS ‘ PHONE TECHNOLOGY OR AT THE PAY & DISPLAY MACHINES (CARD OR CASH). Guests park in this car park at your own risk, Salford Pride and Salford University are not responsible for any issues that arise from guests using this car park.
